Job Call - Executive Director

 

Based in Owen Sound, the Executive Director of the Ontario Native Literacy Coalition has overall responsibility for day-to day management of the organization.  The successful candidate will bring energy and direction to the ONLC, provide leadership for long and short term strategic planning, communicate the goals, objectives and ongoing activities of the organization to key stakeholder partners and funders; serve as an advocate for the organization with government and stakeholders and play a key role in the development of the organization.

 

Education and Qualifications:

    • Post-Secondary Diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Public Administration or related discipline and 5 years experience
    • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal cultures would be an asset
    • Knowledge of adult basic education including adult learning principles, issues and trends-preferably in Ontario
    • Team player with excellent computer, communication, and time management skills
    • Strong financial management experience in administering complex budgets, including the development of business cases, plans and project management
    • Experience in writing proposals and working with governments
    • Compelling presentation skills and experience in presenting to large and small audiences
    • Non-profit management experience in working collaboratively with a volunteer Board of Directors, advocacy, marketing and development and operating an agency with diverse funding resources
    • Valid Ontario Driver’s License with a clear driver’s abstract, access to reliable transportation, and able to travel extensively within Ontario

Salary:

  • $55,000 to $58,000, dependant on experience and qualifications
  • ONLC will not provide any relocation costs related to this position
