The Ontario Native Literacy Coalition (ONLC) strongly believes in supporting Aboriginal-specific training and other opportunities for professional development for LBS Practitioners in the Native stream.
To this end ONLC endeavours to provide an up-to-date list here of its current and upcoming training events as well as training options being provided by other organizations that might be of interest to the field.

Intermediate Training Course coming soon
ONLC has just finished an Intermediate Aboriginal Practitioner training course, which will build on the work done in the Basic Level course released in June 2011.

Fall 2011 Practitioner Training Conference
The ONLC will be holding a provincial training conference for the Native literacy stream in Ontario on October 27-30, 2011 at Kempenfelt Resort in Barrie.

Sioux Hudson Literacy Council, through their Good Learning Anywhere (GLA) program, are offering a wide range of e-Channel trainings again this year and have added a number of new features.

Several colleges in Ontario offer the 'Teacher of Adults: Literacy Educator' Certificate Program online.
