The Ontario Native Literacy Coalition (ONLC) strongly believes in supporting Aboriginal-specific training and other opportunities for professional development for LBS Practitioners in the Native stream.
To this end ONLC endeavours to provide an up-to-date list here of its current and upcoming training events as well as training options being provided by other organizations that might be of interest to the field.

Literacy Basics
Literacy Basics has been expanded to a 13 unit course for literacy practitioners developed by CLO and available to all LBS practitioners in Ontario.

Sioux Hudson Literacy Council, in conjunction with Contact North and Employment Ontario, are offering a wide range of e-Channel trainings again this fall.

CAMERA training for the Native Stream
ONLC was pleased to provide training in the CAMERA assessment tool to practitioners within the Native literacy stream in Ontario in October 2008 and is considering offering a second training in the summer or fall of 2009.

Fall 2009 Practitioner Training Conference
The ONLC will be holding a provincial training conference for the Native literacy stream in Ontario on November 5-8, 2009 at Kempenfelt Resort in Barrie.
